Grind at the National Theatre

On the National Theatre's north-west corner beside Waterloo Bridge, Grind's riverside spot does double duty on the South Bank — speciality coffee and fresh-baked pastries from 8am, with cocktails taking over as the day wears on. The outdoor seats by the river are the obvious draw on a dry afternoon, and dogs are welcome to join you. It works equally well for a pre-show coffee or a slow drink overlooking the Thames.
