Eleven years ago, Jess and Mat abandoned perfectly sensible careers to open a little corner deli in Highbury, and what grew from that is a proper neighbourhood favourite that now bakes its own bread and pastries fresh daily. Their seasonal cakes made with Wildfarmed flour and Natoora fruit, alongside simple, straightforward sandwiches and excellent coffee, make it the sort of place you stumble upon and never want to leave. Their charmingly self-deprecating ethos and dedication to local suppliers has earned them enough devotion to spread across several locations, though the Mountgrove Road original remains the heart of it all.
