By day, this Clapham Common spot pours coffee roasted by Assembly in Brixton, less than a mile away, alongside organic cakes and pastries; come Friday and Saturday evenings it transforms into Common Late, mixing classic and craft cocktails from a vintage apothecary bar. The whole operation unfolds within a Grade II listed former chemist, which also houses a boutique of sustainably made, plastic- and palm-oil-free homewares and gifts. Sustainability is clearly more than a slogan here — they offset their carbon and pledge to plant a hundred trees a year — and dogs are welcome beside you on the terrace.
